Madre Terra

A series of explorations I am doing on nature. I try to convey sensations through color, brightness, relief, and texture.

I hope that by looking at the work, the viewer can awaken their emotional memory, not only by seeing “Il Mare” (The Sea), “The Dawn,” “The North Wind,” but also by smelling and feeling the breeze, the warmth or coolness on their skin, the sparkle in their eyes, the salt in their hands, the sand on their feet, the freshness of the morning on their face, the sweet aroma of sunset in summer, and much more.

The concept behind this series is based on the philosophy of Kinsugi, which states that by repairing what is “broken” with gold, the piece is not only restored but also enhanced.

The common thread running through all the works is the gold that flows from the “wound” which, as in this Japanese technique, symbolizes the resilience of the Earth, which always heals and renews itself.
